At WWE Elimination Chamber, "The New" Daniel Bryan will defend the WWE Championship against AJ Styles, Randy Orton, Samoa Joe, Jeff Hardy and Mustafa Ali inside the dreaded Elimination Chamber.

The announcement came on the heels of the chaotic Royal Rumble pay-per-view, where Bryan survived Styles’ challenge thanks to the surprise arrival of Rowan. When the referee was inadvertently knocked down by an errant kick from AJ, Rowan rushed into the ring to smash Styles to bits with a menacing chokeslam, allowing Bryan to pin his opponent as the referee recovered for the three-count.

Two days later on SmackDown LIVE, The Phenomenal One emerged to take issue with Bryan’s tactics, only to be interrupted by a slew of the blue brand’s elite Superstars looking to stake their claim for an opportunity to challenge The Beard. Randy Orton, Jeff Hardy, Samoa Joe and Mustafa Ali soon joined the fray, and a snide comment from The Samoan Submission Machine to The Phenomenal One ignited an out-of-control melee between all five Superstars.

Bryan refused to face any of the competitors on the ground that they were all “fickle,” but WWE COO Triple H soon joined the party and informed the outspoken titleholder that he would face all of them inside the career-altering combat zone!

In the Elimination Chamber, two competitors will start the bout while the remaining four Superstars remain enclosed in pods. At specified intervals, a pod will open at random, enabling a Superstar to enter the match. This will continue until all six of the combatants have joined the bout. Any Superstar can be eliminated at any time via pinfall or submission and must leave the chamber. The last Superstar standing will be the WWE Champion.

Don’t miss WWE Elimination Chamber, Sunday, Feb. 17, streaming live at 7 ET/4 PT on WWE Network.

WWE Hall of Famer Diamond Dallas Page is usually the one doing the uplifting, but this time he was the one who needed the cheering Up(UpDownDown).

DDP, who has ambitions to face off against WWE 2K19 cover star AJ Styles in the WWE 2K19 Million Dollar Challenge during WrestleMania Week, got an education in WWE 2K19 from WWE’s resident video game expert Xavier Woods. The UpUpDownDown host put DDP through a WWE 2K19 crash course, fed him quotes from his own autobiography and, inexplicably, asked him to chase a dog.

The history of WWE dates back to the early 1950s when it was founded by Jess McMahon and Toots Mondt in 1952 as Capitol Wrestling Corporation (CWC). It underwent several name changes throughout the years, from World Wide Wrestling Federation(WWWF) to World Wrestling Federation (WWF) to World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) in 2002.

WWE is the largest professional wrestling company in the world. It has promoted some of the most successful wrestlers and storylines, and featured some of the most iconic and significant matches and moments in the history of the sport. WWE currently airs several high-profile programs such as Raw and SmackDown in more than 150 countries, hosts 12 pay-per-view events a year including WrestleMania, and holds approximately 320 live events a year throughout the world. In 2014, WWE launched the first ever 24/7 streaming network which would eventually showcase the entire WWE video library.

Capitol Wrestling Corporation

1952–1963: Early years

WWE was founded as Capitol Wrestling Corporation (CWC) on January 7, 1952 by Jess McMahon and Toots Mondt. CWC was the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA)'s northeastern territory. The NWA recognized an undisputed NWA World Heavyweight Champion that went to several different professional wrestling promotions in the NWA. The championship was defended around the world. The NWA generally promoted strong shooters as champions, to give their worked sport credibility and guard against double-crosses. While doing strong business in the Midwest (the NWA's core region), these wrestlers attracted little interest in the CWC territory. In 1961, the NWA board decided instead to put the championship on bleach blond showman "Nature Boy" Buddy Rogers, a much more effective drawing card in the region. The rest of the NWA was unhappy with Mondt because he rarely allowed Rogers to wrestle outside of the Northeast. Mondt and McMahon wanted Rogers to keep the NWA World Heavyweight Championship, but Rogers was unwilling to sacrifice his $25,000 deposit on the championship belt (championship holders at the time had to pay a deposit to insure they honored their commitments as champion). Rogers lost the NWA World Heavyweight Championship to Lou Thesz in a one-fall match in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on January 24, 1963, which led to Mondt, McMahon, and the CWC leaving the NWA in protest, creating the World Wide Wrestling Federation (WWWF) in the process.

Everyone has an opinion on why young people disengage from school. The topic arouses significant comment from politicians, media commentators, teachers, teacher unions and parents. Viewpoints include blaming the young person, bad parenting, liberal teachers, lack of discipline in schools, too much focus on testing, the breakdown of society and so on. We have heard it all.

However, when I asked a principal of a major Australian high school about students and disengagement, he told me:

‘I really hate the word ‘disengaged’. Every time I get the chance I say to people like yourself and others that the real word is ‘disenfranchised’, because ‘disengaged’ suggests that it’s the student’s fault when the reality of it usually is that it’s just that the education system doesn’t provide anything that meets the needs of the disenfranchised.’

I think this is an important take on the notion of disengagement. It suggests young people who fall into such a category have been denied their right to an education and, significantly, it is the system’s responsibility to address this injustice.

Flexi-schools

Over the last few years I have been working with a range of schools, often referred to as flexi-schools. These are independent, attached to a mainstream school or linked to a system, such as Edmund Rice’s Youth, which provide options for young people who have rejected or been rejected by a mainstream school. These schools are often flexible around issues such as uniform, homework, attendance and curriculum, taking into account personal circumstances.

They provide for young people who have been living in poverty, have been homeless, experienced some form of trauma in their lives, become pregnant or a parent, or have been discriminated against because of their race/ethnicity, sexuality and/or appearance.

Students of flexi-schools speak about a lack of flexibility on the part of their former schools to address their complex needs, the difficulties in attending school, about being bullied and about being anonymous within a large mainstream school population. Some of the stories these young people told me are heart-breaking.

On the other hand they note how, amongst other things, their new flexi-school provides a crèche, support with legal aid, with finding accommodation and transport, has a focus on developing relationships between teachers and students, and, importantly, ensures young people have an opportunity to air grievances and have an input into key school decisions that affect them.

They also speak about the ways in which they have been engaged in the curriculum through supportive teaching practices. They suggest within their current schools they are not judged by their perceived abilities, backgrounds, appearances or histories.

What we can learn from flexi-schools

Mainstream schooling can learn much from these schools. First, schools need to acknowledge and address the types of economic difficulties some young people face just to get to school and engage with schoolwork. If students do not know where they will be sleeping that night or where their next meal is coming from it is very difficult to focus on schoolwork, to make wearing the correct uniform a high priority or even to undertake the journey to school.

If a school becomes a place where a young person can access a variety of services, such as medical, social and welfare, as well as being a school, it can mean young people in dire economic circumstances are able to attend. Importantly, school can become a place where they know their difficulties will be recognized.

Secondly, whilst many schools suggest that they value diversity, some diversities are more valued than others. I interviewed a number of young women who said they were encouraged to leave school because they were pregnant and young people who claimed that because of their perceived sexualities they experienced on-going harassment (not just from other students) and leaving school was the only way of avoiding such behaviours.

The flexi-schools I visited all recognize the importance of valuing difference through the provision of specific services, for example, crèches and health support, linking with local communities, including Indigenous elders, developing restorative justice practices, and being non-judgmental about appearances. These are all socially just practices that should form the fabric of mainstream schooling.

And thirdly, the silencing of young people’s voice in schools is one of the most common reasons young people give for leaving mainstream school. The students I spoke to often complained about how they were punished, in a variety of ways, for an act they did not commit. They could not cope with such an injustice and left school. Many flexi schools have a system for ensuing students are able to have grievances heard, are able to contribute to major decisions through community meetings and are invited on to school committees (including interview panels for teachers).

The schools also often have no-exclusion policies. Students understand how democracy works by taking part in democratic practices that underpin the organizational structure of the school. This could surely be one way to encourage engagement, not only in schooling but also in society.

Working on how to incorporate democratic practices into mainstream schooling is a key way of addressing disenfranchisement.

Most importantly, research in flexi-schools tells us many young who were deemed unteachable in their previous schools, when given the right conditions will take up the educational opportunities offered them.

It is worth concluding here with the comments of a retired magistrate who was volunteering as a mentor in one of the schools I visited. He spoke about his first day at the school:

‘I walked up the front stairs and … there were a couple of boys that were in raggedy clothes, the dirty, smelly hair. One of them had bits of steel/metal hanging all out of his face. I was thinking to myself, “Why the hell ‑ what am I doing here?” It was only a couple of years I was sentencing kids like that. And then I came in and ‑ it took a session, probably an hour of talking to these kids and then I started to realise, “Hey, wait a minute, I have pre‑judged these kids.” I have been pre‑judging them wrongly, of course.  So now, I have totally changed the way I think. As I tell the people when they ask me to talk at various places, “it’s really education, not legislation that will fix the problem with the youth”.’

Such an education can only occur when we look beyond the image young people sometimes construct of themselves, and see their disengagement from schooling as a denial of their right to an education. A right that must be addressed.

Finn Bálor and Braun Strowman confronted Mr. McMahon and Brock Lesnar

OKLAHOMA CITY — Ready or not, Finn Bálor is facing Brock Lesnar for the Universal Title on Sunday, and the question is: Do you believe? Mr. McMahondoesn’t believe in fairytales, so safe to say he’s out of the Bálor Club. Braun Strowman is looking past the Royal Rumble to give These Hands to whomever is still standing. Lesnar and Paul Heyman are impressed with their upstart challenger, but they’re predicting “martyrdom” all the same.

But Bálor believes. Granted, that’s what happens when you beat John Cena to make it to the dance, but as The Extraordinary Man explained in a show-opening brouhaha, his self-belief was there long before he pinned the G.O.A.T. And it’s unlikely to abate anytime soon, as he promised Strowman he’d succeed where The Monster failed and take the title from Lesnar. That didn’t quite make The Chairman a believer, but it was enough to pique his interest and sanction Bálor vs. Strowman in a match he predicted would be “very interesting.”

Finn Bálor def. Braun Strowman via Disqualification

For a moment, let’s say that Finn Bálor can defeat Brock Lesnar. How would he do it? The Irishman’s bout with Braun Strowman — something of a show-me match orchestrated by a skeptical Mr. McMahon — gave some clues. As the commentary team suggested, stick and move is the obvious answer, and indeed that strategy paid dividends, as the first-ever Universal Champion whittled his monstrous opponent down to his knees, much to the begrudging admiration of Lesnar at ringside.

He even got to employ that quickness against Lesnar after Strowman tossed Finn into the waiting arms of a suplex-happy Conqueror and instigated a three-way scramble that ended with Bálor blasting Lesnar with a running dropkick into the barricade. Finn rode his hot hand to the cusp of a Coup de Grâce against Strowman, only for Lesnar to roar back with an F-5 to the Irishman, ending the match in a disqualification victory for his challenger. The move had the outward appearance of an overreaction by a Beast looking to mark his territory. But maybe, however narrow, a path to victory exists.

Intercontinental Champion Bobby Lashley def. Apollo Crews

The Intercontinental Championship represents hard-earned validation for Bobby Lashley, but some Superstars aren’t exactly sold on The All-Mighty just yet. Apollo Crews, who narrowly missed out on the title on New Year’s Eve when he challenged then-champion Dean Ambrose, stepped up to the imperious titleholder and goaded his way into a match by mocking Lashley in a pose-down (and atop Lashley’s custom podium, no less).

Crews certainly had the goods to hang with Lashley, flitting around The All-Mighty and even pressing him over his head (albeit briefly, as the effort left Crews with a tweaked lower back). But Lio Rush, as ever, proved to be the equalizer, catching Crews’ attention and setting him up to be bulldozed by a Spear, which Lashley administered while Apollo had The Man of the Hour pressed over his shoulders.

Even then, Lashley found himself upstaged once again: The All-Mighty’s victory celebration was interrupted by Seth Rollins, who locked eyes ominously with the champion as he approached the ring for his match with Drew McIntyre. Seth should tread lightly. If there’s a lesson to be learned from Crews, it’s that you disrespect Lashley at your own risk.

Seth Rollins def. Drew McIntyre

Looking beyond the Royal Rumble for a moment, it might be time to give Seth Rollins serious consideration as a potential Universal Title challenger. True, he’s in the mix with Superstars a lot bigger and stronger than he is, but as The Kingslayer explained in an address that evoked Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., he has one ace in the hole: Bone-deep passion and a burning desire to win the day. And lest you think that’s just a downtrodden former champion trying to talk himself up, Rollins put his money where his mouth was by defeating Drew McIntyre — as dangerous a competitor as there is and a champion-in-waiting by all accounts — on the strength of those very intangibles.

It would take nothing less to topple The Scottish Psychopath, who had Rollins completely and utterly outgunned in the power department. McIntyre made a show of rag-dolling The Kingslayer across and outside the ring in the first half of the match and later again down the stretch after the former WWE Champion fought his way back into the match. Yet Rollins notched kickout after kickout and finally caught McIntyre by rolling him up and stacking himself completely on top of the Scot to make his size count for nothing, and give Rollins' heart the last word.

The Boss ‘N’ Hug Connection def. Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey & Natalya

After much consideration, Ronda Rousey would like to clarify: She will not be apologizing to Sasha Banks. Despite the shaky if mutual respect at the outset of their road to the Royal Rumble, a series of escalating confrontations led The Baddest Woman on the Planet to recast The Boss as a resentful also-ran during an interview before the main-event tag team match that pitted Rousey and Natalya against The Boss ‘N’ Hug Connection. Banks retaliated on the mic, saying she earned her title match and claiming that the Raw Women’s Champion has been handed everything since she came to WWE, and The Boss administered as many cheap shots as she could muster once the bell rang.

Infuriating The Baddest Woman on the Planet was a bold strategy, but it seemed to pay off. Banks capitalized on Rousey’s relative inexperience and overt aggression to trap her in the Bank Statement, which Natalya quickly broke up. Rousey, who dubbed herself “The Boss’ Boss” in her pre-match tirade, eventually replied by catching Banks in the Armbar, though the four-time Women’s Champion narrowly escaped the hold by rolling to the ropes. Natalya tagged in and administered the Sharpshooter on a depleted Banks, only for Bayley to break the hold and knock Rousey off the apron, teeing up The Boss to trap The Queen of Harts in the Bank Statement, earning her third consecutive tapout with the signature maneuver.

Lest anyone think tempers would cool after the match ended, rest assured, they did not. Banks held on to the Statement a beat too long for Rousey’s liking, and champion and challenger went nose-to-nose as Raw went off the air, as Bayley, Natalya and the official struggled to keep them apart. Clearly no one will be apologizing come Sunday, but someone will be sorry.

23Jan

Following their thriller last week, Rey Mysterio and Andrade collided in a 2-out-of-3 Falls Match, and unlike last week, Zelina Vega would not be able to get involved, as she was barred from ringside.

The Superstars dazzled the WWE Universe yet again with a match that was enthralling and strategic in equal measure. The first fall was decided when Andrade unbelievably powerbombed Mysterio off the top rope to pick up the three-count, but Mysterio fired back with an absurd flipping piledriver to secure a fall of his own.

And then, with it all on the line, it appeared Mysterio was closing in on victory when he hit the 619 and got in position to Drop the Dime, but Samoa Joe blindsided Mysterio and decimated him with a powerbomb onto the apron. The Samoan Submission Machine doubled down on his efforts by ramming Andrade into the ring post and refocusing on Rey, savagely applying the Coquina Clutch. Joe grabbed a microphone and roared that he planned on doing this type of damage to every man that crossed his path in the Men’s Royal Rumble Match this Sunday, but he was met with a blindside attack of his own when Randy Orton struck suddenly with an RKO outta nowhere.

Orton then put up three fingers, perhaps suggesting that he would win his third Royal Rumble Match this Sunday night.

MEMPHIS — Braun Strowman is out of the Universal Championship Match at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view.

The dramatic shift in The Monster Among Men’s fortunes came after a tumultuous start to Raw that saw him go from promising victory against Brock Lesnar to chasing Baron Corbin throughout the backstage area when The Lone Wolf questioned Strowman's chances against The Beast. Strowman found his prey holed up in a limousine in the loading dock (Elias provided the key tip-off in song) and tore the door off the limo with his bare hands to smoke out The Lone Wolf, only to find himself face-to-face with the vehicle's intended passenger, and the only man who could possibly intimidate Strowman more than Lesnar: Mr. McMahon.

The Chairman was, obviously, less than pleased that The Gift of Destruction had decimated his ride. Furious, really, is a more apt description. So much so that he levied a $100,000 fine against Strowman. That might have been that, but when The Monster Among Men raised his voice, The Chairman upped the ante by calling off the Universal Title Match and walking away. Braun replied by flipping over Mr. McMahon’s limo in frustration, an impressive display that doesn’t hide the fact that Strowman let his long-awaited opportunity slipped right through These Hands. And with the most monstrous player off the board, the Universal Title field is wide open.

 STAGES OF LEARNING

There are four stages of learning.  As an persons learns a skill or behavior, they go through the four stages.

STAGE 1:  Unconscious Incompetence

This is the stage of blissful ignorance.  We do not know what we do not know.

In this stage:

  • Our Confidence exceeds our ability
  • We have little experience or skill
  • We are unaware of a deficiency in the subject/skill

We must become conscious of our  incompetence before learning can begin and the new skill developed.

STAGE 2:  Conscious Incompetence

As our awareness evolves into this stage, we begin to realize how little you know.

In this stage:

  • Confidence drops as we realize our ability is limited
  • We feel uncomfortable.
  • We become aware of the existence and relevance of the skill, as well as our deficiency in this area
  • We begin to realize how much we don’t know
  • Practicing the skill takes all our concentration
  • Much learning occurs

We realize that by improving our skill or ability in this area our effectiveness will improve. We must make a commitment to learn and practice the new skill, and to move to the ‘conscious competence’ stage.

STAGE 3:  Conscious Competence

We achieve ‘conscious competence’ in a skill when we can perform it consistently at will.  We can perform the skill, but it takes attention and concentration.

In this stage:

  • Our confidence increases with our ability
  • We need to concentrate and think in order to perform the skill
  • We can perform the skill without assistance
  • We realize how much they have learned

This is a stage where many choose to remain. However, true mastery is not attained until the fourth stage of learning.

STAGE 4:  Unconscious Competence

In the final stage, the skill becomes so practiced that it enters the unconscious parts of the brain and it becomes ‘second nature’.  This is where we can do something effortlessly and without thinking about it.

In this stage:

  • Our confidence and ability have peaked
  • We no longer have to concentrate on what we know/do
  • We can do, but don’t necessarily know how we do
  • We blend the skills together and they become habits
  • We can then do them while our mind is on other things

This is the stage when the skill becomes almost a habit, we are able to be successful without concentration and our conscious mind is free to take on other things.

DHAKA – The Government of Japan and the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) concluded an agreement today which will provide US$ 5 million to support Bangladeshi smallholder farmers and people displaced from Myanmar through December 2020.

The agreement was signed by WFP Bangladesh Representative and Country Director, Mr Richard Ragan, and the Ambassador of Japan to Bangladesh, H. E. Mr. Hiroyasu Izumi, at a ceremony at the WFP Country Office.

“We thank the people of Japan for their continued assistance to this ongoing crisis in Cox’s Bazar. The needs remain substantial and this contribution enables us to continue our support to displaced people while developing new programming to support Bangladeshi smallholder farmers,” said Ragan.

“From this project, both farmers and displaced people will benefit. I sincerely wish that this project will be able to contribute to the development of Bangladesh and support of displaced people in Cox’s Bazar,” said H. E. Mr. Hiroyasu Izumi.

Japan’s contribution will support 2,000 Bangladeshi smallholder farmers in Patuakhali and Cox’s Bazar Districts with training and new tools and infrastructure to support their livelihoods.

Part of the contribution will support the expansion of WFP’s e-voucher programme to people displaced from Myanmar. This innovative programme allows participants to obtain a variety of food at special outlets contracted by WFP in the settlements. About a quarter of people displaced from Myanmar in Cox’s Bazar receive assistance by e-voucher, and this contribution from Japan will support 21,000 people with e-voucher assistance for 12 months.

This represents a continuation of Japan’s strong support to WFP’s response in Bangladesh. Japan contributed US$ 15 million to WFP Bangladesh in the beginning of the response, which provided timely funding in a time of great need. Japanese funds supported the construction of a bridge in the middle of the Kutupalong-Balukhali expansion site, which provides vital access to a section of the settlement that was completely unreachable by trucks carrying food and other supplies.

In Cox’s Bazar, WFP provides food assistance to over 870,000 people per month who have been displaced from Myanmar. WFP also supports nutrition and livelihoods interventions in the host community, supporting the most vulnerable people. WFP urgently needs US $52 million to continue providing assistance through June 2019.

We are currently in the midst of the build-up to the 2019 Royal Rumble event as things are clearly getting heated up. The current Intercontinental Champion is none other than The Moral Compass of WWE himself - Dean Ambrose, as he had defeated his nemesis in Seth Rollins at TLC 2018 to gain the championship gold.

Ambrose is at the beginning of his third reign as the Intercontinental Champion, as he had turned heel on the 22nd October 2018 edition of Raw by attacking his former friend in Seth Rollins - just hours after their fellow Shield-brother in Roman Reigns had announced his real-life battle with leukemia.

However, this allows the opportunity for a babyface to dethrone Ambrose to take the Intercontinental title away from him. Here are 5 possible superstars who could defeat The Lunatic Fringe.

5. Elias

On the April 10th, 2017 edition of Raw, Elias made his debut on Monday nights by appearing on the stage along with walking through the crowd shortly after that. From there, it was clear that the WWE had faith in Elias to be something special as they gradually built up towards his debut on the May 22nd episode of Raw - against Dean Ambrose himself, in a match where he had won via disqualification following interference from The Miz.

Fast forward to October 22nd, 2018 on Raw, we witnessed the face turn of Elias after he had attacked Baron Corbin with a guitar. Prior to the face turn, Elias was slowly getting more and more over with the WWE Universe as they would cheer along to his performances in the ring.

It's clear that the WWE sees something in Elias, and The Drifter makes a good option to take the Intercontinental Championship away from Ambrose. Elias clearly has the support of the WWE Universe, and he does look strong right now considering the fact that he had defeated Bobby Lashley on the 17th December 2018 edition of Raw in a Miracle on the 34th street fight.

Elias seems to be very established at the moment, and he would make a great opponent for Dean Ambrose. WWE did a great job of turning Ambrose into a solid heel, due to the fact that he had turned on Seth Rollins on a night that was crucial and heartbreaking for The Shield. A win for The Drifter could be the key to making the entire WWE Universe officially walk with Elias in his first reign as the Intercontinental Champion.

4. Heath Slater

The One Man Band is the epitome of a superstar who has been falling in the pecking order as there really hasn't been a lot for him to do. He was embroiled in a tag team with Rhyno, as the two men had success at the beginning of their journey as a team- when they became the Smackdown Tag Team Championships. The duo was very over with the fans until they moved to Raw and began to flounder.

This led to Heath Slater being forced to compete in a match against his partner in Rhyno, with the stipulation of the loser being fired from the WWE. It was Slater who managed to come out on top, but instead of being given the opportunity to continue as a wrestler- he was forced to take the role of a referee instead.

Slater's time as a referee was an awkward one, as he would attempt to screw faces such as Elias and Seth Rollins out of a win during their matches. However, his run as a referee came to an end at TLC 2018 when Slater took off his referee shirt during the TLC match between Braun Strowman & Baron Corbin - as Slater along with many other faces went onto screw Corbin out of potentially becoming the Raw GM.

On the December 24th episode of Raw, we saw Rhyno return to help his partner out after Jinder Mahal had attacked Slater. Despite the fact that this tag team seems to be back on, Vince McMahon had promised Slater that 2019 would be his year- which poses the question of whether Slater will have an opportunity to win a title this year?

Of course, it seems highly unlikely that he will contend for the Universal Champion. But Slater has never won a mid-card title in the WWE, so it may be possible that he could challenge Dean Ambrose for the Intercontinental Championship. We have never seen Ambrose and Slater involved in a rivalry before, so this would have the potential to be something fresh.

And after all, Slater does indeed have kids. He needs to feed his family, and the best way for him to do that would be to dethrone Ambrose to become the new Intercontinental Champion.

3. Bray Wyatt

After an appearance at Starrcade 2018 where we saw Bray Wyatt defeat Baron Corbin in a match, we have yet to see The Eater of Worlds on Raw. Wyatt had a decent 2018 after a Raw Tag Team Championship reign with Broken Matt Hardy- as the two men briefly ran havoc on the Raw Tag Team division.

With Wyatt clearly being set to return, there wouldn't be a better option for him than to go face to face with Dean Ambrose. We have seen the two men involved in a rivalry before, back in 2014 where Ambrose and Wyatt had a series of matches in a feud that was won by Wyatt after he was the victor during their final match in a Miracle on 34th Street Fight on December 22nd, 2014 episode of Raw.

However, their feud was very lacklustre. But this time, the roles would be reversed due to Wyatt being a face and Ambrose being a heel. And considering the fact that Wyatt also hasn't won a mid-card championship before, a rivalry with Ambrose could be excellent as both characters have clearly been rejuvenated.

Having a title in the mix would give both men a purpose in a potential rivalry, and there would be no doubt that Wyatt would have the entire world in his hands - as it's highly likely that the fans would be rooting for him to take the title away from Ambrose. Most importantly, it would give Wyatt something worthwhile to do so that he doesn't get lost in the shuffle.

2. Finn Balor

Balor has also been floundering on the Raw roster, which is disappointing considering the wrestling talents that this man possesses. Ever since he returned from his injury, he hasn't been given the opportunity to be at the top again.

He has had multiple shots at the Intercontinental Champion, but he has come out short in all of them. He even received his one on one Universal Championship match against Roman Reigns whilst he was the champion, but he also lost that bout.

However, a possible rivalry with Dean Ambrose sounds very intriguing as we have never seen this match-up before. Balor would be the perfect superstar to question Ambrose's past decision to turn on Seth Rollins, due to the respect that he has for The Architect. We have yet to see Balor win a mid-card championship in the WWE, which makes him a viable option to take the title away from Dean Ambrose.

The fact of the matter is, Balor is desperately in need of some credibility as well after his momentum has been drained constantly. He has been booked to lose so many times, which is baffling considering the strong start he had when he first debuted on Raw. Balor not living up to the expectations could be something that Ambrose could use in an attempt to play mind games.

A possible rivalry with Balor and Ambrose would provide brilliant matches as Balor could be the perfect babyface for Ambrose to go up against. When it comes to the microphone and promos, Balor simply isn't as strong as Ambrose- but if this potential rivalry was given the heat and personal issue that it would rightfully need, there would be no doubt that Balor & Ambrose could both deliver with segments.

1. Kevin Owens

And finally, at #1 on the list, we have none other than Kevin Owens.

On the December 17th, 2018 episode of Raw, we witnessed a vignette that hyped up the fact that The Prize Fighter was making his return to Monday nights. The last time we saw Owens appear on Raw was October 6th, 2018- when Owens went face to face with Bobby Lashley in a match where we saw a double turn occur, with Owens turning face for the second time in his WWE career- with the first being when he debuted on NXT.

Owens was written off television due to the fact that he had suffered injuries on both of his knees which required surgery. It would make perfect sense for Owens to return and immediately go after Bobby Lashley for injuring him, but there is no denying that after that rivalry is settled - he could go after Dean Ambrose in a quest to regain the Intercontinental Championship, a title which he has already held twice.

We have seen Owens and Ambrose battle multiple times before, and their past rivalry was also for the Intercontinental title. Ambrose was the one who had taken the title away from Owens in 2016, as their feud culminated in a Last Man Standing Match at the 2016 Royal Rumble event. At that time, Owens was a heel whereas Ambrose was wrestling as a babyface.

But with both men's alignments now being changed, we could see a change in style for both men in the ring as well as segments. Ambrose & Owens can hold their own in a mic, and we could see a war on the mic as well as the ring as well. The two men have put on great matches before, so there would be no qualms in the two superstars having excellent matches again.

Most importantly, if Owens to challenge Ambrose - it would give Ambrose the perfect match in terms of opponents. Both men are brutal with their styles, and they both always have intentions to destroy their opponents. The Prizefighter would be an exceptional foil for Ambrose, and he could the one to take the Intercontinental Championship away from The Moral Compass of WWE
